Sanford G. Miller

BRIDGETON TOWNSHIP, UPPER BLACK EDDY, PA - Sanford G. Miller, 89, of Bridgeton Township, Upper Black Eddy, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Ringing Rocks Family Campground in Upper Black Eddy, PA.

Born December 10, 1927 in Upper Black Eddy, PA, Sanford grew up in Upper Black Eddy, lived briefly in Easton, PA, and for the last 19 years, alternated his time between his campers in Ringing Rocks in Upper Black Eddy, PA and Grandma's Grove in LaBelle, FL. Sanford served in the US Navy as a cook for two years. He was a truck driver for most of his life and retired as a Supervisor of Maintenance at Penn-Roosevelt State Park. Sanford enjoyed hunting and trapping, but was not a big fan of cats. He considered himself the "Mayor" of Ringing Rocks Campground. Sanford was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Riegelsville Masonic Lodge for 25 years.

Son of the late Henry and Dorothy (Gledhill) Miller, Sanford is survived by his beloved partner of 25 years Allene Rush, his daughter Sandra Degan and her husband Dave of Upper Black Eddy, PA, his three grandchildren Shannon, Jill, and David, and his two great-grandchildren Michael and Mason. He was predeceased by his first wife Mary (Groover) Miller in 1990, his two brothers Robert Miller and George Miller, and his sister Charlotte Miller.

A Celebration of Sanford's Life will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 12 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Interment will follow at the Upper Tinicum Cemetery in Tinicum Township, PA. Visitation will also be held on Sunday from 10 AM to 12 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
