Dr. Peter Harry Craig

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, NJ - Dr. Peter Harry Craig, 87, of Holland Township, NJ, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at his home.

Peter was born on December 25, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA. He obtained a BS degree from Pennsylvania State University and a VMD and MS from the University of Pennsylvania. Peter served in the US Air Force from 1958 to 1961 at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Montgomery, AL and at Johnsville Naval Air Station in Warminster, PA. He taught pathology at the veterinary colleges of the University of Pennsylvania and Cornell University. Peter then pursued a career in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, retiring after 15 years with Mobil Oil Corporation. Peter was very active in his retirement. He worked as a ski instructor at Camelback for 10 years, served 7 years on the Holland Township Rescue Squad, was a Board Member of the Hunterdon Land Trust and the Hunterdon County Library, volunteer photographer for the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions, Chairman of the Holland Township Planning Board, and belonged to various historical commissions and societies around Hunterdon County. Peter was a lifelong skier, sailor, fisherman, photographer, and small aircraft pilot.

Son of the late Joseph Taylor Craig and Viola Kelly, Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Dr. Suzanne Smith; his two daughters, Ann Williams and Nancy Martin; his two sons, Peter A. Craig and Michael Craig; and his five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hunterdon Land Trust at www.hunterdonlandtrust.org.
