Barbara T. Hamberger

BRIDGETON TOWNSHIP, UPPER BLACK EDDY, PA - Barbara T. Hamberger, 85, of Bridgeton Township, Upper Black Eddy, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Doylestown Hospital in Doylestown, PA.

Born January 26, 1932 in Orange, NJ, Barbara lived in Millburn, Centerville, and Pittstown, NJ before moving to Upper Black Eddy, PA in 2003. She graduated from Millburn High School in 1949. Barbara worked for American Insurance Co. in Newark, NJ for 10 years. In 1962, with her ex-husband, she bought a farm in Pittstown, NJ. It was one of the first llama farms in Hunterdon County, Twin Maples Farm, which she managed and operated for 45 years. Barbara was known for raising exotic animals at the farm, where the local game warden knew to bring injured and orphaned animals. She was a member of the Clinton Baptist Church and a member of the AKC for breeding and raising St. Bernard dogs.

Daughter of the late Thomas William and Margaret E. (Kindt) Turney, Barbara is survived by her son William Thomas Hamberger of Upper Black Eddy, PA, her daughter Lauren Ann Morris of Pen Argyl, PA, her nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son George J. Hamberger IV in 1996.

Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.
