Richard Bartkiewicz

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, NJ - Richard "Rich" D. Bartkiewicz, 67, of Holland Township, NJ, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ.

Born September 13, 1950 in Jersey City, NJ, Rich lived in Hasbrouck Heights before moving to Holland Township in 1988. He attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, NJ. As a drummer, Rich formed his first band, the 3B's, with his father and his brother, renaming the band in 1978, "the GB's", which played at many private events over the years and twice at Musikfest in Bethlehem, PA. He loved gardening and miniature trains.

Rich is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy (Seipel) Bartkiewicz, daughter Amy Bartkiewicz, granddaughter Kayli Bartkiewicz, mother Lucy (Lopaciuk) Bartkiewicz, brother Gene Bartkiewicz (Kelly) of Canyon Lake, TX, sister Barbara McPeek (Kevin) of Alpha, NJ; Pat Murphy (Andy), and Susan Rodwick (Dale) all of Kalispell, MT, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Casimir Bartkiewicz and his great niece Katelyn Roker.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 10 AM at the St. Mary's R.C. Church in Alpha, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery adjacent to the church grounds.

Memorial contributions may be made to an education fund for his granddaughter Kayli Bartkiewicz.
