Mildred C. Gernhardt

ALEXANDRIA TOWNSHIP, NJ - Mildred C. Gernhardt, 96, of Alexandria Township, NJ, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Princeton Care Center in Princeton, NJ.

Born October 15, 1921, Mildred lived in and near Everittstown, NJ most of her life. She attended Frenchtown High School. Mildred worked as a machinist at Frenchtown Porcelain. She enjoyed music, attending bluegrass festivals, needlework and crocheting. Mildred loved Cape Hatteras, NC, and she was proud of her and Tony's garden. She was a member of the Everittstown United Methodist Church.

Daughter of the late John and Bertha (Ashcroft) Cronce, Mildred is survived by her daughter Shirley Lowe and her husband John Stephen of Natick, MA, her sister Jean Maxwell of Lynchburg, VA, her daughter-in-law Roberta Gernhardt of Pennington, NJ, and her grandchildren John Michael and Alison. Mildred was predeceased by her beloved husband of 69 years, Anthony Gernhardt, her son Raymond C. Gernhardt, and her brothers Raymond Cronce and John Cronce, Jr.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11 AM at the Everittstown United Methodist Church, 415 County Road 513, Pittstown, NJ. Interment will be at the Frenchtown Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 10-11 AM prior to the service at the Everittstown United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Federation of the Blind, 200 East Wells Street at Jernigan Place, Baltimore, MD 21230, or to the Everittstown United Methodist Church, 415 County Road 513, Pittstown, NJ 08867.
