Jay Keith Lance

MILFORD, NJ - Jay Keith Lance, 86, of Milford, NJ, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Township, NJ.

Born February 29, 1932 in Asbury, NJ, Keith grew up on his family's farm in Everittstown, NJ. He lived in Stockton, NJ and Frenchtown, NJ before moving to Milford in 1971. Keith served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked for the Operating Engineers Local 825 in Newark, NJ, for over 30 years. Keith was a private pilot, flying out of Alexandria Airport. He built his last airplane, an RV4, at his home in Milford. Keith was a longtime motorcycle enthusiast and was a member of the Gold Wings Motorcycle Club. He was also a member of the Frenchtown-Milford VFW Post #7857.

Son of the late Edward and Floey Lance, Keith is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Marjorie (Case) Lance, his son Mark S. Lance and his wife Robin of Wind Gap, PA, his daughter Kathy Riley-Lance of Boise, ID, his sister Joyce, his five grandchildren Melissa, Tonya, Ciara, Dustin, and Christopher, and his nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Michael Lance in 2012, his daughter Karen Lance in 1960, his brother Dorence Lance, and his sister Jean.

Graveside service with military honors will take place at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.
