Barbara R. Kamm

Barbara R. Kamm

Barbara Rae Kamm, 72, of Milford, NJ, passed away in her sleep early on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at her home.

Born March 9, 1948 in Santa Monica, CA, Barbara lived in California for many years. She was raised in Pacific Palisades and lived in Huntington Beach and Santa Ana, as well as other areas of California. Barbara received her double Bachelor's degrees in Biology and Mathematics from the University of California, Irvine, and her Master's degree in Biostatistics from the University of California, Berkley. She first worked as a biostatistical analyst for a hospital in San Francisco. She then joined the pharmaceutical industry, first as an analyst and later as a medical writer. After her retirement, she continued working part-time as a medical writing consultant. She moved to New Jersey about twenty years ago.

Barbara had a very adventurous spirit. As a child, she traveled the United States with her family. During her college summer holidays, she worked at Disneyland. After graduating college, she spent several months as a vagabond traveling around Europe. In her professional life, she continued to travel the world.

Known and loved by many friends in the USA and abroad, she will be remembered for her intellect, attention to detail, her enthusiasm for life, and her compassion for others, as well as her love of animals, trees and books. Mostly, she will be remembered for her generosity: Barbara was a willing donor to many deserving causes.

Daughter of the late Edward and Katherine (Drewes) Kamm, Barbara is survived by her beloved companion of twenty years, Roy E. Bullingham, of Milford, NJ, her brother, Steven D. Kamm, of Oklahoma City, OK, her nephew, Tyrone Kamm, and his wife, Heidi, and her two great-nephews, Maxwell and Satchel. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister-in-law, Karen, and niece Letitia Kamm.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arbor Day Foundation.

Dear Steve and Roy, I was shocked and saddened to hear of Barbara’s sudden passing. We knew each other from high school, college and beyond. May you be comforted knowing she lived a full life and not dwell on her no longer being present. I offer you my deepest condolences. Aloha, Judy

Will miss Barbara at the milford market. Always enjoyed our talks.

From: Edie Sternberg
Barbara and I met at Berkeley as grad student classmates. We shared many of the same interests and enjoyed a Mexican adventure during school break. Over the next 50 years we stayed in touch and kept each other updated over our love of nature and dogs, among many others. She was always very interested in the activities at our Arboretum, especially our annual summer interns. I'll miss her witty letters and emails.
