Harlan B. Hoffman

Harlan B. Hoffman, 94, of Lopatcong Township, NJ, formerly of Frenchtown, NJ, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the Lopatcong Care Center in Lopatcong Township, NJ.

Born October 10, 1926 in Frenchtown, NJ, Harlan was a lifelong resident of Frenchtown before moving to Lopatcong Township in 2016. He worked at the A&P in Frenchtown, NJ for forty-five years. Harlan also worked at the recycling plant in Frenchtown. He was a member of the Frenchtown American Legion Fidelity Post 113. Harlan was well known for helping place flags at Veteran’s graves, in Frenchtown Cemetery, for many years. Harlan was active organizer of the Frenchtown Memorial Day Parades for decades. He was also a member of the Oddfellows Magnolia Lodge in Frenchtown and longtime member of the Frenchtown Presbyterian Church. Harlan was a leader and active in the Boy Scouts of America, for over forty years.

Son of the late Oliver and Mamie (Pickel) Hoffman, Harlan is survived by his son Brian R. Hoffman of Phillipsburg, NJ and his grandson Blaine Hoffman of Alpha, NJ. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Gloria (Good) Hoffman in 2006 and his two brothers Robert Hoffman in 1962 and Leland Hoffman in 1979.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 10-11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM with Pastor William Myers, of the Frenchtown Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow at the Frenchtown Cemetery.
