Matteo Sebastiano

Matteo “Matt” Sebastiano, 85, of Williams Township, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at his home.

Born April 4, 1936 in Staten Island, NY, Matt lived in East Amwell Township, NJ, before settling in Williams Township, PA, in 2001. He was a graduate of New Dorp High School in Staten Island, NY. Matt served in the US Army and the Army National Guard. He retired as a firefighter for the New York City Fire Department #256 in Brooklyn, NY. Matt was a member of the St. Lawrence R.C. Church in Riegelsville, PA, as well as the Flemington Elks Lodge #1928 in Flemington, NJ. He enjoyed painting, golf, working outdoors, dancing and traveling with his wife, Janice. He liked antique cars and owned a 1964 Ford Thunderbird. Most of all, Matt enjoyed spending time with his family.

Son of the late Matteo and Concetta (Tedesco) Sebastiano, Matt is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Janice (Marchisa) Sebastiano, his son John Sebastiano and his wife Laurie of Tewksbury, NJ, his daughter Lisa Barosi and her husband Paul of Holland Township, NJ, his grandchildren Jessica, Matthew, Ella and Tori, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his brother Joseph Sebastiano of Florida. Matt is predeceased by his sisters Theresa Heikel, Lena Juliano, Sue Delaura, Frances DeRosa, and Angelina Alose.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 4-8 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Funeral services will begin Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, with military honors, at 12 PM at St. Lawrence R.C. Church, 345 Elmwood Lane, Riegelsville, PA, with Father Walter Benn officiating. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, face masks and social distancing will be enforced.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Lawrence R.C. Church, 345 Elmwood Lane, Riegelsville, PA 18077.
