Anna Dent

Anna Dent, 79, of Holland Township, NJ, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, PA.

Born March 15, 1942 in Naples, Italy, Anna grew up in Argentina before immigrating to the United States in her early 20’s. She lived in the Princeton, NJ area before moving to Holland Township in 1974. Anna worked as a home health caregiver and a nanny. She also worked for Valley View Nursing Home in Frenchtown, NJ, the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, NJ. Anna was a very creative woman and loved arts and crafts. She especially enjoyed painting and was very proud of her oil paintings. She loved animals. Always kept pets and was compassionate towards all animals and life. She enjoyed spending time outside. Gardening, plants, and flowers of all kinds. Anna was a former member of St. Mary’s R. C. Church in Alpha, NJ. She was a current member of St. Edward the Confessor R.C. Church in Milford, NJ and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society.

Daughter of the late Angelo Tammaro and Giovanna Salmone, Anna is survived by her two sons Timothy C. Dent and his partner Jaclyn of Erwinna, PA and Christopher B. Dent of Portland, OR, her sister Joann Rosso and her husband William of Columbus, NJ, and her sister Theresa Tammaro of Naples, Italy as well as her grandson Calvin Arthur Dent. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur E. Dent, Jr. in 2007.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 6-8 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 10 AM at the funeral home with Father Chester Zalubski officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.

The members of the Holland Township Woman's Club are saddened to learn of our past member, Anna Dent's, passing. Anna was a kindly soul with a quick wit and a helpful hand. She was most proud of her sons and grandchild. While not a member at her passing, we will miss seeing Anna at various senior meetings/church within the township. Our sincere sympathies to her family.
