Anna L. Cox

Anna Loretta Cox, 96, of Alexandria Township, NJ, passed away on September 19, 2021 at Foothill Acres Nursing Home in Hillsborough, NJ.

Born September 9, 1925 in Jersey City, NJ, Anna lived in Clark, NJ for most of her life. She worked as a bookkeeper for RCA in Clark, NJ. Prior to getting married, Anna worked for various banks in New York City. She was a Girl Scout leader for her three daughters. Anna enjoyed bowling with her beloved husband Harold. She was a member of Exxon Annuitant Club and was an active member of St. Agnes R.C. Church in Clark, NJ.

Daughter of the late Edward Bentlyewski and Margaret (Daniels) White, Anna is survived by her three daughters Linda Milo and her husband John of Holland Township, NJ, Gayle Sharpe and her husband Allan of Matawan, NJ, Laura Alpern and her husband Robert of Alexandria Township, NJ. Also survived by her two grandchildren Gregory Sharpe and his wife Elisabeth, Kelly Milo and her husband Kyle Van Gilson, and her great-granddaughter Grace Van Gilson. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Harold Thomas Cox in 2018 and her brother Edward Bentlyewski.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 5-8 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ, 08848. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 24 at 11 AM at St. Agnes R.C. Church, 332 Madison Hill Road, Clark, NJ, 07066. Interment will follow at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rahway, NJ. Due to COVID-19, the family requests face masks please be worn during the visitation and services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the NORWESCAP Food Bank, 201 Broad Street, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.

To The Cox Family: First of all, I am so very sorry for your loss of dear Anna. Anna had a heart of gold, a great wit, a good sense of humor, a smart mind and a wonderful disposition! I had the utmost pleasure of caring for Anna, for 3+ years! Not only did I care for her, I loved her like family too! I also had the pleasure of taking care of Harold, "Hal" before her; another gem indeed!!! Heaven has received a most precious angel in Anna! Anna, now you can soar high with your other Heavenly angel families; wonderful husband Harold, Brother Edward, And Mother And Father for all eternity! Dear Anna, until we meet again!
