Suzanne Monica Macaoay

Suzanne Monica (O’Malley) Macaoay, 58, of Holland Township, NJ, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ, with her beloved family by her side.

Born September 28, 1963 in Brooklyn, NY, Suzanne lived in Westfield and Stewartsville before moving to Holland Township, NJ in 2010. She was a 1981 graduate of Westfield High School and attended Union County College. Suzanne earned her Bachelor of Science in Geology from Rutgers University Newark, and a Master of Arts in Geology from Princeton University. She worked for Sadat Associates in Trenton, NJ for 24 years where her last title was Vice President of Special Projects, and most recently worked as the Vice President of PennJersey Environmental Consulting in Milford, NJ. Suzanne served as the Secretary of the Geological Association of New Jersey for the last 20 years and edited their annual field book. She also served on the Franklin Township Open Space Committee in Warren County, NJ, for many years. Suzanne was a member of the New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional Association where she also served on the Finance Committee. She also sang in the choir at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Washington, NJ, where she also taught 6th grade Sunday School for many years.

Daughter of the late Thomas Francis O’Malley, Suzanne is survived by her beloved husband of 13 years, Rodger Ferguson, Jr., her mother Sarah Ann (Curtin) O’Malley of Clinton, NJ, her sons Mitchell Ferguson and his partner Julie of Fairbank, AK, Allan Ferguson of Stewartsville, NJ and his partner Nicole, Miguel Macaoay and his partner Mar of Holland Township, NJ, and Marion Macaoay of Canton, NY, her daughter Erin Ferguson and her partner Andrew of Wilmington, DE, her sisters Cecelia Crane and her husband Peter of Tewksbury, NJ, Amy Pedrotti and her husband Victor of Jonesboro, GA, and Sarah McDougall and her husband Scott of Westminster, MD, and her two beautiful grandchildren Atlas and Auria. Suzanne was predeceased by her cherished cat, Tuxy.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Suzanne's Life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ 08848.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “The Rodger ’83 and Suzanne Macaoay Ferguson Annual Fund Scholarship” of Ursinus College at www.ursinus.edu/makegift.
