Paula R. Wilson

Paula Rhea Wilson, 91, of Olathe, KS, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023, one day before her 92nd birthday.

Born May 16, 1931 in Corpus Christi, TX, Paula enjoyed growing up near the coast, visiting her uncle on his farm and being a big sister to her siblings, Sue and “Sonny.” It was in Corpus Christi that Paula met Robert (Bob) Wilson, who was stationed there with the U.S. Navy. They began a courtship and eventually married on July 10, 1953. They were married 68 years. During that time, they lived in several states including Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and, most recently, Kansas. Paula and Bob loved to travel. They had visited countries all over the world, as well as almost every state in the U.S.

Along the way, Paula and Bob raised three boys and Paula obtained her college degree. Paula gave generously of her time facilitating her sons’ many activities and endeavors. Paula was instrumental in bringing extended family together for 20 annual reunions in locations all over the U.S. Paula enjoyed playing tennis and gardening in her spare time. Paula was such an even tempered, classy lady, always supportive and attentive to others’ needs. She donated her time to The Bargain Loft which was a charity that resold items to benefit women and children in shelters. Paula loved spending time with family, especially her seven grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Paula is survived by her two sons: Richard Wilson (Jenny) and Larry Wilson (Angela), and daughter in law: Ginger Wilson; seven grandchildren: Samuel, Jeremy and Olivia Wilson, Francesca and Geneva Wilson, and Tyler and Taylor Wilson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Paul Wilson, her son Robert Lester Wilson (Ginger), her parents Gena and Alfred McDonald, her sister Sue McDonald Wilson and her brother Alfred Paul McDonald, Jr.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 11 AM – 12 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Funeral services will follow at 12 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Nick Hatch with Alexandria First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt.
