Barbara Ann Hovey, 87, of Milford NJ, passed away on October 21, 2023, at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Township, NJ. Barbara, formerly known as Barbara Griffin, was born in New Milford, CT. She was a very kind and caring person, known for her loving nature.
Daughter of the late Raymond Edward and Sarah Anna (Tuz) Griffin, Barbara is survived by her beloved husband John L. Keller, who she spent the last 21 years with, six married, her two daughters Donna King and her husband Thomas and Kathleen Bondi and her husband Robert, her five grandchildren, and three great-granddaughters as well as John Keller's son Larry Keller and daughter Amy Farber.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Donald Hovey, and her parents, Sarah and Raymond Griffin, as well as her brother, Raymond Griffin Jr.
Barbara attended Alexandria Elementary School and graduated from Frenchtown High School. She furthered her education at Helene Fuld Nursing School, where she pursued her passion for healthcare and earned her Medical Technician degree. Barbara worked in the medical field for over 40 years and dedicated 25 years of her career as a medical technologist at Hunterdon Medical Center.
Barbara was an active member of Milford Presbyterian Church, where she worshipped. She found joy in her hobbies, which included knitting, and designing and creating Ukrainian eggs. She was also an active volunteer in the community, assisting disabled children.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 10-11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM with Pastor Linda Bullock officiating. Interment will follow at the Upper Tinicum Cemetery in Tinicum Township, PA.

Barbara was a long time friend of my mom Verna Ulmer and I would babysit for Barb’s girls when needed. I knew her from church in Milford also. She will be missed by many. Praying for her family.
