Arthur H. Shaw, Jr., 90 years old, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Langhorne, PA.
Born September 24, 1933 in Hornell, NY, Art was the son of Arthur H. Shaw, Sr. and Ruth Boynton Shaw.
Art attended Hornell High School and Alfred University, graduating with a degree in ceramic engineering. During his early years, Art was an accomplished musician, playing cornet in school orchestras and solo performances in Atlantic City, NJ. Art served in the US Army Reserves for six years as a combat engineer.
Vocationally, Art was an engineer in the electronics industry working for Ratheon, RCA, and GE corporations. He designed mounting platforms and packaging for transistor and integrated circuits.
While at RCA, Art met and married Shirley C. Hale and they lived happily in Raritan, NJ for many years. In 2000, they built their retirement home in Columbus, NJ and lived the remainder of their 48 years together there.
Art is survived by his stepdaughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Thomas Barbus of Cogan Station, PA and his stepson and daughter-in-law, Gene and Jackie Hale of Ottsville, PA. He is also survived by his four granddaughters Marcy Scully, Emilee Brandenburg, Colleen Hale, and Elizabeth Hale; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife Shirley, both his parents, and his sister Nancy Fox.
Services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ. Interment will be held privately at Somerset Hills Memorial Park.
