Linda Marie Kwiatek

Linda Marie Kwiatek

Linda Marie Kwiatek, 64, of Alexandria Township, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at her home.

Born December 22, 1954 in Newark, NJ, Linda lived in Roselle, NJ and Colonia, NJ before moving to Alexandria Township in 1982. She graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. Linda was a Lab Technician for Exxon Mobil Research and Engineering for over thirty years. Here she worked on a multitude of projects and volunteered in many school programs promoting STEM activities. Here she found not only stimulating work but also a group of dedicated colleagues and friends.

Linda was a marvelous homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Linda was well known as an avid reader and a fan of Smooth Jazz; her close friends inevitably came to appreciate her tastes and eventually to share them with her. If you knew Linda, you may have joined her on a bus ride to the city for a Broadway musical, a trip down the shore for nothing more than enjoying the view, or maybe for a hike on a trail for bird watching with her husband. Vacations for the Kwiatek family were meticulously planned and executed by Linda, with exotic destinations, comfortable settings, and many memorable meals with family and close friends. She was a creative soul at heart and enjoyed a multitude of arts and crafts, including tole painting, needlepoint, oil painting, and quilting. Linda was an excellent cook and baker, who passed along her family traditions to her son and daughter. Linda loved to bring together family and friends around the kitchen table and could turn any old day of the week into a dinner party to remember. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Daughter of the late Dominic and Theresa (Catenacci) Spiotti, Linda is survived by her beloved husband of almost 40 years, Peter J. Kwiatek, her daughter Teresa Higgins and her husband Emmett, her son Vincent Kwiatek, her sister Frances Bedner, and her grandson Rhys.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 6-8 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 9 AM at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at the Our Lady of Victories R.C. Church, 1005 County Road 519, Baptistown, NJ.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hunterdon Land Trust, 111 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
