Lloyd "Mick" J. Hambleton, 87, went peacefully to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Township, NJ, surrounded by loving family and friends. He was a faithful member of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Phillipsburg, NJ, where he served as Trustee. Mick honorably served in the US Army for two years during the Korean War, then served in the National Guard for an additional six years. He always acknowledged other veterans with memories of Korea. He received his Hunterdon County Veterans Medal in 2003. He served with pride, loved his country and the flag, which he flew every day.

Mick was the son of the late Gregory and Martha (Kelly) Hambleton. Born May 9, 1931 in East Orange, NJ, he grew up in the area of Point Breeze in Kingwood Township and moved to Pittstown, NJ in 1959. He attended Frenchtown High School and Somerset County College. Mick worked as a Security Guard at the World headquarters of Merck in Whitehouse Station, NJ, for over twenty years. Prior to that, he was a Production Supervisor at Thomas J. Lipton in Flemington, NJ, for twenty-six years. He was a former member of the Quakertown Fire Company. He was a hard worker, always offering to help others. Mick was an active ball player, bowler, and golfer with many honors. He was loved for telling stories, his strong handshake, his quick wit and easy laugh, and his special love of Southern gospel music.

Mick is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-six years Alma A. (Rounsaville) Hambleton, his son Michael J. Hambleton and his wife Judy, his two daughters Elizabeth McKenna and Debbie Zimmermann and her husband Robert, his step-son David Crawley and his wife Donna, his four step-daughters Debi Chamberlin and her husband Kim, Brenda Hornbaker and her husband Robert, Ginger Crawford and her husband Kevin, and Melanie Heller and her husband David, his twenty-seven grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his three brothers, James, Warren, and Lawrence "Bub", and his two sisters, Kay and Betty.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 6-8 PM and Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 10-11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. A Celebration of Mick's Life will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Smith officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Alexandria Township, NJ.
