We are sending our condolences to the entire family, and are very sorry for your loss. I started Del Val in 1960 and Bob was my bus driver and a very good one, I also remember seeing his wife ride by in the station wagon with the 4 boys and they all waved when I was outside the house on Spring Mills Road where I grew up and purchased the house from my parents 35 years ago, so I have alot of happy memories. His dad, Jack drove alot of our sports trips after school for field hockey. Spoke with Bob alot a MaDees in the morning when he would be there, another place for happy memories. My condolences to the entire family. Mr. Balliet was my bus driver from 1976 to 1980 traveling from Milford to Del Val. Always with a slight smile, sometimes a hello in the morning or a little nod to acknowledge boarding his bus.

From: Larry High
Fist met Bob at the milford gas station that he and his father ran. Always a straight shooter and nice man. Followed Bob to his next career at the del Val high school during different maintenance projects at the school. Was a done man and fair man to deal with. Later in life when his building needed painting in Milford nj we for together with a 30 day project. Each day we would share a laugh and a smile with him happy to see the project completed wanting not to burden his family with mains on the building. Rest In Peace old friend. Larry D High

So sorry to hear of the passing of a long time friend. He was my bus driver all through High School. Many things stand out in my mind of his graciousness. Always a wave to say hello. Many years ago during the gas ration (odd even) days, I had a long commute and little money. I had a conversation with Bob one day about this and I still remember what he said, "hey don't worry about it if you need gas you just let me know!" I never told this to anyone and thankfully I never had to ask him. This was such a selfless act, on his part, as I remember it now. RIP Bob.
