Prior to that, he worked as a building and maintenance engineer at Delaware Valley Regional High School. Romulus was an active member of the Stanton Grange, the Hampton Fire Co., and was an exempt fireman with the NJ State Fireman's Association. For many years, he and his late wife enjoyed square dancing with their friends at the Danny Tebo Square Dancing Club. He was also a member of the Patriotic Order Son's of America and the Alexandria First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Pleasant. Romulus enjoyed woodworking, crafting, camping, and traveling. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, who will be missed by his family and friends.

Romulus is survived by his three daughters Christine H. Fleming-Wenzel, Flora Christensen, and Sandra Galegonya, his son Floyd A. Fleming, Sr., his fifteen grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his great-great-grandchild, his two foster children, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife, he is predeceased by his six brothers Phillip, Clifford, Nathan, Luther, Herbert, and Marvin Fleming, and his sister Beaulah Stamets.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 10 AM-12 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Funeral services will follow at 12 PM, with Pastor Nick Hatch officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
