Doris B. Henderson

Doris Betty Henderson, 93, of Brandon, FL, formerly of Milford, NJ, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL.

Born May 11, 1927 in Frenchtown, NJ, Doris grew up in Frenchtown until she and her husband built their home in Milford, NJ, in the 1950's. She graduated from Frenchtown High School. Doris was a homemaker. She worked at Bowker's Pharmacy in Milford, NJ, where she met her beloved husband Robert E. Henderson. She worked as a florist for Elky's Florist in Upper Black Eddy, PA. Doris was also an avid doll collector and was a member of the Forks of Delaware Doll Club out of Easton, PA for many years. She enjoyed gardening and loved flowers and plants. Doris was a former member of the Milford Presbyterian Church and the Eastern Star for sixty years.

Daughter of the late Theodore and Christena (Bartlemann) Smith, Doris is survived by her daughter Darla M. Jones, her daughter-in-law Barbara Henderson, her five grandchildren Christy, Alison, Tyler, Jeff, and Jason, and her nine great-grandchildren Nia, Ezel, Ellsworth, Kion, Alora, Bella, CT, Emma, and Jett. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert E. Henderson in 2017 and her son Robert "Bob" Henderson in 2020.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 11 AM at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Alexandria Township, NJ, with Reverend William "Tex" Culton officiating. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231.
