Eleanor Heidinger

Eleanor M. Heidinger (Finken) of Willow Street, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Willow Valley Retirement Community. She was 93 years old.

Born July 4, 1928 in Jersey City, NJ, Eleanor was a former resident of Hoboken, Berkeley Heights, Mt. Pleasant, Gillette, and Watchung, NJ and Doylestown, PA. Eleanor worked for Passaic Township School District Special Services Department in Millington, NJ for 23 years, retiring in 1990. Prior employment was with the Superintendent of Schools in Berkeley Heights, NJ and with the Veteran’s Administration in Newark, NJ. While living in Gillette, she was a Girl Scout Leader, Den Mother for “Cub Scouts” and after moving to Pennsylvania, a member of the Doylestown Senior Citizens Group.
Eleanor loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.

Daughter of the late William and Hedwig (Broemel) Finken, beloved wife of the late Anton M. Heidinger, Eleanor will be sadly missed by her two loving children James A. Heidinger (late Kay) of Lancaster County, PA and Susan K. Colvin and her husband Brian, of Churchville, PA. She was the loving grandmother of Michael Colvin of Waltham, MA and Brittany Gbur and her husband Peter, of Austin, TX. . She will also be missed by her cousins and many nieces and nephews and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her dear sister, Ruth Radzio

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Sunday, September 5, 2021 from 12-1 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. A funeral service will follow at 1 PM, with Reverend William “Tex” Culton officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Alexandria Township, NJ. Services will be live streamed via Zoom.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
