Anna M. Eckenrode

Anna M. Eckenrode, 79, of Alexandria Township, NJ, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Country Arch Care Center in Union Township, NJ. Anna was predeceased by Raymond, her husband of 41 years, who passed from Covid in 2020.

Born February 5, 1943 in Elizabeth, NJ, Anna lived in Orange County, CA, moved back to New Jersey, living in Far Hills, before moving to Pittstown in 1980. She worked as a clerk for AT&T in Bedminster, NJ for 39 years. She volunteered with her therapy dog, Chloe, visiting patients in nursing homes, and participating in “Children Read to Dogs” programs in libraries around Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Anna enjoyed gardening, traveling, shopping adventures, and was an enthusiastic cook and baker. She was a member of the Frenchtown Presbyterian Church.

Anna is survived and sorely missed by her son Steven D. Burt of Pittstown, NJ and Jeannette M. Tynan of Frenchtown, NJ, her best friend for over forty-seven years. Anna is also survived by several cousins and many friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 2-3 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ, followed by a Celebration of Anna’s Life at 3 PM with Pastor Linda Bullock officiating. Anyone who wishes to share their memories of Anna will have an opportunity to do so.

Memorial contributions may be made in Anna’s name to Frenchtown Presbyterian Church, 4th Street Frenchtown, NJ 08825.
