Marie Day

Marie Day, 63, of Springtown, PA, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born December 19, 1959 in Trenton, NJ, Marie lived in both Holland Township, NJ. and Erwinna, PA before moving to Springtown, PA in 1998. She was a Del Val High School graduate. Over the years, Marie worked at Napoli’s Pizza, The Meadows, The Pattenburg House, National Hotel and as the chef at Ma Dee’s Chat Shop.


Daughter of the late Stanley Sochalski and Carol (Walp) Sochalski, Marie is survived by her loving partner and companion of 27 years Lorne D. Seip, her children Taylor Seip; Tina Day Kalnas; Jenny Wendell; Brenda Day and Lornedale Seip. Marie was blessed with seven grandchildren, Silas; Austin; Aiden; Kaylee; Bryson; Jackson and Lillian. She was preceded in death by a brother Stanley Sochalski, Jr. and sisters Trudy Sexton, Amy Aufschlag and Carol Sochalski.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 5-6 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. A Celebration of Marie’s Life will follow at 6 PM with Reverend William “Tex” Culton officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
