Melissa D. Sickler

Melissa D. Sickler, 53, of Bethlehem, PA, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, PA.

Born November 4th, 1969 at Fort Rucker, Alabama, Melissa then moved to San Antonio, Texas from 1972 to 1978 and from 1980-1984. Then, her family moved to Bangor (Johnsonville) PA. She graduated from Bangor High School in 1988. Melissa also resided in Plymouth and her father’s farm in Shickshinny, PA. She moved to Bethlehem, PA in 2018. Melissa worked in the hospitality and restaurant business for many years. She also worked in retail in management positions. Most importantly, she was a loving, adoring mother and daughter.

Melissa is survived by her daughter Jaden Kent Perrillo of Hanover Township, PA, her mother Patricia C. Sickler and her companion Leonard Parkin, her brothers Michael Sickler and his wife Lesley and Christopher McKellar and his wife Liz, and Jade Perrillo, dear friend and father to Jaden Kent Perrillo. She was predeceased by her father David Kent Sickler.

Melissa never met a stranger; whoever made contact with Melissa was guaranteed a laugh and a smile. She lit up every room she entered. There was never a dull moment as long as she was involved. Melissa never failed to make anyone smile with being her funny, sweet and caring self. She always made sure people knew they were cared for and loved. She was a people person and perfectly suited to be in the hospitality business where she was almost made to be in contact with the public. She was able to excel in the service industry because of her charismatic personality and her big heart. She made friends easily and enjoyed spending time with them. She certainly was a warm, loving, and kind human being. She absolutely adored her daughter Jaden and was so proud of her. She will be deeply missed by her family and all of the friends she made over the years.

Services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.

Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Bethlehem Mounted Police, 615 East Langhorne Ave., Bethlehem, PA 18017 or to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 28 West 44th Street, Suite 609, New York, NY 10036.

Melissa and I reconnected, at Windcreek, where she was working at the time. It was serendipitous for us since it was the 100th Anniversary of the Bangor -Pen Argyl Game and Missy was a cheerleader for me. It was tearful as we hugged, and made amends. So glad that we got to reconcile Missy. You were an extremely talented cheerleader.
