Linda A. Compton

Linda A. Compton, 68, of Holland Township, NJ, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 at her home.

Born September 8, 1951 in Phillipsburg, NJ, Linda lived in Alexandria Township, NJ, then in 2004, moved into the house her parents built in Holland Township. She graduated from Delaware Valley Regional High School in 1969. Linda received her bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Trenton State College in 1973. Linda taught at Warren Hills Jr. High School for seven years, and then worked as a bookkeeper for various companies including Good Food Grocer, Metropolitan Seafood, and Shenberger Insurance Agency in Frenchtown, NJ. She was also a homemaker. Linda was an avid reader and loved vacationing with her family. She coached DVAA girl's softball for many years, while her daughters played. Linda was a member of the Hunterdon Health and Wellness Center in Clinton, NJ, where she swam a mile, three times a week. Most importantly, Linda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Daughter of the late Howard Richard and Eleanor (Still) Case, Linda is survived by her beloved husband of forty-four years, Lewis R. Compton, and her four daughters; Kelly Griffin and her husband Matthew, Amy Hensel and her husband Robert, Katharine Leechan and her husband Daniel, and Lori Silva and her husband Jason; her brother John Case and his wife Pamela; and her six grandchildren - Reagan, Lincoln, Hunter, Bennett, Allison, and Angela.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 6-8 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. A visitation will also be held on Friday morning from 10-11 AM, followed by funeral services at 11 AM, with the Reverend William "Tex" Culton officiating, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Alexandria Township, NJ.

Memorial contributions may be made to a cancer charity of one's choice or to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Association, 564 Spring Mills Road, Milford, NJ 08848.
