Wayne S. Sherman

Wayne S. Sherman, 86, of Milford, NJ, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020, at the Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ.

Born February 27, 1934, in Frenchtown, NJ, Wayne lived in Frenchtown before settling in Milford, NJ, in 1961. He was a graduate of Frenchtown High School. Wayne was a Private 1st Class in the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He worked as a Quality Control Inspector at Ortho Pharmaceutical Corp., in Raritan, NJ, until he retired in 1993 and then he worked as a courier for the ShopRite in Flemington, NJ. Wayne was a member of the Frenchtown Presbyterian Church. He loved to play softball or any sport with the neighborhood kids. Wayne was an avid car mechanic and loved his blue 1967 Corvette. He was proud to have bowled a 300 game and even had the ring to prove it. Wayne loved his wife's cooking, enjoyed big family dinners, and being together with his family.

Son of the late Leroy W. and Marion (Smith) Sherman, Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Mary Ann (Rick) Sherman, his son John W. Sherman and his wife Susan of Holland Township, NJ, his daughters Lisa A. Hartpence and her husband Ridge of Frenchtown, NJ, and Alison M. Maziarz and her husband Keith of Frenchtown, NJ, and his grandchildren Christia, Marissa, Justin, Ethan, Brooke, and Christopher.

Graveside services will be held privately at the Musconetcong Valley Cemetery in Hampton, NJ. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater NJ Chapter, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07324.
